On a monthly basis I run an intensive digital photography course through the volunteer and travel organisation African Impact. The workshop starts on the first Tuesday of each month and runs through to the Thursday Evening. As of the beginning opf 2010 the workshop will take place every fourth week, rather than the first week of each month (see dates below).

The workshop is an intensive learning experience best suited to amateur photographers widhing to learn more about photography from the basics through to some advanced techniques.

The cost for the workshop is R4350 per person. This covers all tuition, park fees, accomodation and food for the duration of the workshop. Please contact me for more information and for availabilty on the workshops.

Monday evening (before the course). Meet and greet for students who arrive on the Monday evening. Dinner with the community and medical volunteers at the African impact house.

Tuesday 8:30am – Seminars begin covering the basics of the camera and how it works. These seminars are interspersed with exercises so that the photographers can get a better understanding of camera controls and the fundamentals of exposure.
12:30 – lunch
14:00 – Seminars on understanding exposure on digital cameras and how to perfect exposure using the histogram
+/- 15:30 – Leave for the edge of Isimangaliso Wetland Park where photographers complete their first assignment.
18:00 – Dinner (occsasionally we come back later if the light is good for photography)
21:00 – Presentation and critique of the days images (Photographers are expected to produce 5 images a day for presentation and critique)
